Bahamas’ Charisma Taylor produced the standout performance in the women’s 100m hurdles at the World Athletics Continental Tour Silver meet in Bhubaneswar, storming to victory in 12.96s.
Taylor was the only athlete in the field to break the 13-second barrier, underlining her dominance in the final. Japan’s Yumi Tanaka finished second with 13.04s, while India’s Jyothi Yarraji secured the bronze medal in 13.24s.

Taylor’s sub-13 performance was the highlight of the race, as she created a clear gap over the chasing pack to take the title. Tanaka also produced an impressive run, finishing just 0.08 seconds outside Taylor’s winning mark.
Yarraji, meanwhile, continued her strong presence on the international stage by crossing the line in 13.24s to claim third place. The Indian hurdler was followed by compatriots Pragyan Prasanti Sahu and C. Anjali, who finished fourth and fifth respectively.
With four Indian athletes finishing inside the top five, the event also provided valuable international competition for India’s women’s sprint hurdles group on home soil.
The Bhubaneswar meet, India’s first-ever World Athletics Continental Tour Silver-level competition, has brought together a strong international field at Kalinga Stadium, giving Indian athletes an opportunity to compete against established global performers.
