Athletics India exists to give Indian track and field the coverage it deserves: accurate results, fair reporting and stories of the athletes and coaches behind every performance. These are the standards we hold ourselves to.
Accuracy
- Results, times, distances and records are checked against official sources wherever possible, such as World Athletics, the Athletics Federation of India, and meet organisers.
- Where official data is not yet available, we say so and update the story when it is.
- We check facts, names and quotes before publishing.
Independence
Our coverage is decided by our editorial team alone. Advertisers, sponsors, federations, athletes and their representatives do not approve or influence stories before publication. Sponsored content is always clearly labelled. See our Advertising Policy.
Fairness
- We give people a fair chance to respond to significant criticism or allegations before we publish.
- We report on athletes of every level, region and background, not just medal winners.
- We clearly separate news reporting from analysis and opinion.
Sources
We name our sources wherever we can. We use anonymous sources only when the information is important, cannot be obtained another way, and we have good reason to trust it.
Anti-doping and sensitive issues
We report doping cases on the basis of official decisions and statements from WADA, NADA, the Athletics Integrity Unit or other competent bodies. We use careful language around provisional suspensions and pending cases.
Young athletes
We take extra care when reporting on athletes under 18. We avoid publishing personal details that are not needed for the story, and we are mindful of their welfare.
Images and video
We do not edit photographs or video in a way that misleads readers. Images are credited to their source wherever possible.
Use of technology
We may use software tools to help with research, data and transcription. All published content is reviewed and approved by our editorial team, who remain responsible for it.
Corrections
When we get something wrong, we fix it openly. See our Corrections Policy.
