India’s Nandhini Kongan delivered a determined performance in her first-ever Asian Games hurdles final. She finished sixth in the women’s 100m hurdles final at the 2026 Asian Games, clocking 13.45 seconds.
Kongan improved on her qualifying time and competed against some of Asia’s leading sprint hurdlers in Nagoya.

Kongan secured her place in the final after clocking 13.48 seconds in the preliminary round.
Her performance earned her qualification for the medal round. She then stepped onto the track for her first-ever Asian Games final.
Mako Fukube Wins Gold in Women’s 100m Hurdles
Japan’s Mako Fukube won the gold medal with a time of 12.74 seconds.
Her compatriot Hitomi Nakajima claimed silver in 12.78 seconds. China’s Wu Yanni completed the podium, taking bronze in 13.12 seconds.
Meanwhile, Kongan improved her time in the final. She clocked 13.45 seconds, finishing sixth overall.
Nandhini Kongan Gains Valuable Asian Games Experience
Although Kongan missed out on a medal, she improved her performance in the final.
Her time of 13.45 seconds was faster than her preliminary-round mark of 13.48 seconds. The final also gave her valuable experience against a strong international field.
Kongan’s performance in Nagoya marks another step in her development as an Indian sprint hurdler.
