USA’s Tate Taylor created history at the World Athletics U20 Championships 2026 in Eugene, becoming the first athlete in the 40-year history of the championships to complete the men’s sprint treble.

Taylor achieved the remarkable feat by winning gold in the 100m, 200m and 4×100m relay, producing three outstanding performances across the championships.

His historic campaign began in the 100m, where he clocked a sensational 9.94s to win the gold medal and record a personal best. The performance established Taylor as the fastest athlete in the field and set the tone for what would become an unprecedented championship.

He then completed the individual sprint double in the 200m, producing another exceptional performance. Taylor stopped the clock at 19.83s, winning gold while setting a new championship record.

The American sprinter completed his historic treble in the men’s 4×100m relay. Running alongside Blake Hamilton, Dillon Mitchell and Kyler Brown, Taylor helped the USA clock 38.16s, securing gold and setting a new World U20 record.
